The Life Of Me, Sam Krueger
I am a computational physics major as you probable already know or have figured out at Illinois State University. I completed my minor in mathematics at the end of my sophomore year with a somewhat strong background in differential equations.
Ones and zeros are my passion since I never can seem to go that long without writing some code for some reason. Right now the ones and zeros I manipulate is mostly for research. I am studying chaos with Dr. Rosa by looking at Lynx population models. Basically, I simulated one ecological region using three growth equations that depend on each other; the growth of vegetation, hares, and lynxes. After understanding that model to some degree, another ecological region is added and migration is allowed to happen between the two. After conforming the results from a paper we based the initial research on we went on to a three patch system and looked how it interacted by seeing what patch(es) are in sync at different migration values. I have been working on this for over a year now and have come up with some nice results. We are in the process of writing a paper on it now.
Besides research, I also program TI-89 programs in c. I have made a function to make a program work on only one calculator (if you transfer it, it will not work). Also I have made a program that is basically a geometry book of formulas, some that are common and others that few know about. Currently, I am in the process of making the game of risk. Although it is not close from being done, I am quite proud of it. I wish I could find more time to develop it more.
Nature is another love of my life. Now I am not one of those environmentalists, but I do find a nice walk through the woods extremely wonderful. I try to go and visit my sister, Kim, whom lives in Durango Colorado at least once a year. It is so beautiful out there no matter what season it is. I have a Jeep Wrangler now so I can go on the off-road trails into country that seems like it never been touched. The closes thing to those trails around Normal IL is Evergreen Lake. Many times I have slept out there in a hammock, rocking under the sky so dark that the Milky Way is not hard to see. I have even slept out there during a freezing rain shower. And did I mention how beautiful the sunsets are there; it is like a master artist painting the sky with peaceful fire.
On more personal matters, I am a follower of Christ; at least I try to be. At times my faith is quite week and my friendship with God is quite low. In the last month or so I have been working on getting God to be the center of my life.
There is a lot more to me then the words above, so drop me a line if you want to know more or just want to talk. If you don’t know my email address or my number, but want to contacted me, just use the form below.
